Did you know that January 27th is Multicultural Children's Book Day? One of my favorite things to do is to put great books into the hands of students that they can connect with. Check Here for my reviews on a few new kid picture books and here for chapter books.
Welcome to the 2016-2017 School Year! Start the school year off right with asking your child and their teacher for favorite grade level books to read at home. A huge key to reading success is finding books you love. For young readers, it's often several books written by an author, known as series readers.
Be sure to encourage book variety by balancing fiction, nonfiction and even graphic novels (Anime, Manga and comics)!.
Make plans to stay strong as a reader this summer by reading lots of books for pleasure. Visit your local library for great free programs and books. Grant Grizzlies can keep their stride by signing up for the Grizzly Summer Slide Reading Program. Email Reading Teacher Phelicia Lang for more information.
Students who read books and keep a log. will earn Barnes and Noble Gift Cards. Gift Cards can be picked up in the office July 28th.
